While I was working in Kailua (Oahu Hawaii) I had the advantage of eating out at a restaurant on my lunch break every day that I was stationed out there. I was scheduled to work 7 days in Kailua so I know I would have the opening to eat at a lot of places.

I was not well-known with restaurants in Kailua. My only other visit to Kailua was when my mom used to bring me Kailua for dentist appointments in the 3rd grade.

Breakfast Pizza

Day three of my work week on the east side of Oahu, Hawaii brought me to a town within the Kailua area called Enchanted lake. By the looks of the map it seemed as though the town was situated in a tight 1 mile circumference with a two way road looping you colse to the town. We were installing light fixtures in a restaurant called "Round Table Pizza" located in the Enchanted lake Shopping center. Soon after that we jumped over the street to install the same lighting in "The Shack" restaurant which is kind of a sport bar with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

I was on a crusade to find some food for my lunch break here in Enchanted lake, Kailua. After working in the Round table pizza Hawaii restaurant I took my lunch break and headed down the shopping center to a restaurant called "The Food Company".

It was engaging because I had heard of "The Food Company" restaurant by a few locals and also from the website. But one thing that I noticed while working earlier in the day was that at 9:30 in the morning even before the store opened there was four population exterior waiting to get in. As the day went on the customers never stopped coming to 'The Food Company' for a bite to eat and at lunch the place was packed. I decided that 100+ population couldn't be wrong so Ill go ahead and try out their menu.

The Food firm did not disappoint, they had all the local favorites from fish and seafood/sushi items to authentic Asian dishes. They also had a light Polynesian menu as well. I tried the Bar-B-Que bento mix plate and it was delicious. The prices were ok but the food was well worth it.

Good food, inexpensive wines, it has a cosmopolitan feel and the servers are fun. Chef Ryan has an awesome sauce for the fresh oysters. Owners Heidi & Perry are all the time there production sure your experience is just right.

Best Value house bistro - puny Red Rooster - Here is a good clean choice for those seeing to feed a house without breaking the bank. The Greek salad is all the time admittedly fresh and the salad dressing is so good it should be bottled and sold over the counter.

Best Take Out Pizza - Rest-to-Go - Good ingredients with a gastronome touch make this a prominent choice for food on the run.

Best Eat-in Pizza - Garcioli's - Just want a pizza and a beer or glass of wine? A wide choice of crust and ingredients make this place a favourite.

Best Veranda - The Charles Inn - Although they have indoor dining in a collection of areas the best tables are on the rear porch overlooking the golf course. The food is very good and there is an perfect wine list.

Best Grouper Sandwich - The Anchorage - Some things just do not get any better. It is cajun spicy with chipotle sauce with lettuce and tomatoes on a fresh baked bun. Served with fries for 10 bucks you can't beat it.

By no means is this the perfect list. In fact there are many other great places to go. If you have never been to Niagara-on-the-Lake you owe it to yourself to take a break. Book at least 2 nights in a hotel, Bed and breakfast or country inn. Enjoy some wine tasting, theatre, shopping and of procedure dining in the prettiest town in Canada. 7. The Spice shop buffet-restaurant. Someone else great place to enjoy your breakfast if you like range and decent quality. Unfortunately you cannot enjoy the roll-over lunch here, but if all you care about is breakfast, this is a good choice.

8. The Wynn buffet-restaurant. This used to be the second best bistro for a sumptuous breakfast but things have been declining somewhat.

9. Any Bellagio restaurant. Beside its fabulous buffet, the Bellagio offers a good range of high-quality hotels which, if price is not an issue for you, you can try and completely enjoy. If you can, go to the ones which offer a view of the fabulous 'lake' with its fountain show, but any other will be just as good.

10. breakfast at Mandalay Bay bistro buffet. The key is in the fruit section and in the hot sausage section! The rest is not fabulous but two items are served here at breakfast that, if you are in the area, you should not miss. Moroever, the environment is beautiful.

Restaurants - Pizza Parlors

If you live in the United States, you can't drive for more than two blocks in any major city or town without seeing a pizza parlor. You would think that they were giving away gold at these places the way they're packed throughout the day. So what is it with these establishments that Americans just can't get enough of them? We'll take a look at some of the finer points of your not so finer eating place.

For one thing, pizza parlors, sometimes referred to as pizzerias, are open much later than most of your other restaurants in the states, except maybe for your late night diner, which we'll cover in another article. Pizza parlors are many times open til past midnight. Most don't even open until after 12 noon as very few people have pizza for breakfast, though I am sure there are some people who would eat it then too.

As for the food itself, well, that really depends on the parlor itself. They are not all the same. The smaller ones usually don't have much of a selection. As a matter of fact, there are some pizza parlors that only have maybe two or three varieties of pizza. The most common ones for the small parlor are plain, sausage and pepperoni. Maybe you'll get an extra cheese as well, but that's about it. Also, with these really small places, most of which you can find on the beaches, they don't even sell whole pies. It's by the slice and that's it. And don't expect anything other than a slice of pie and a soda or fruit drink.

If you live in the United States, you can't drive for more than two blocks in any major city or town without seeing a pizza parlor. You would think that they were giving away gold at these places the way they're packed throughout the day. So what is it with these establishments that Americans just can't get enough of them? We'll take a look at some of the finer points of your not so finer eating place.

For one thing, pizza parlors, sometimes referred to as pizzerias, are open much later than most of your other restaurants in the states, except maybe for your late night diner, which we'll cover in another article. Pizza parlors are many times open til past midnight. Most don't even open until after 12 noon as very few people have pizza for breakfast, though I am sure there are some people who would eat it then too.

Spinach, broccoli, and mushroom is one of the most popular. You can sample it at their restaurant or at the Taste of Chicago, where they've had the top selling pizza for the last 30 years.

For gourmet, thin-crust pies, Bricks Chicago has out-of-the-ordinary choices with fun names like Sweet Heat, which has barbecue sauce, mozzarella, chicken breast, bacon, and smoked gouda. With spicy shrimp, red peppers, and basil pesto, Creole Shrimp is another favorite. There's a good selection of draught and bottle beers to accompany your meal too.

Sapore di Napoli is another great choice for Naples-style pies. Many of their ingredients, including the flour, buffalo mozzarella, and salami, are imported from Campania, Italy. And they ship Stanislaus tomatoes in from California. With gorgonzola, mozzarella, fontina, and Parmigiano-Reggiano, the four cheese pie here is a real winner. Restaurants in Kailua - Enchanted Lake Oahu, Hawaii

While I was working in Kailua (Oahu Hawaii) I had the benefit of eating out at a restaurant on my lunch break every day that I was stationed out there. I was scheduled to work 7 days in Kailua so I know I would have the chance to eat at a lot of places.

I was not familiar with restaurants in Kailua. My only other visit to Kailua was when my mom used to bring me Kailua for dentist appointments in the 3rd grade.

Day three of my work week on the east side of Oahu, Hawaii brought me to a town within the Kailua area called Enchanted lake. By the looks of the map it seemed as though the town was situated in a tight 1 mile circumference with a two way road looping you around the town. We were installing light fixtures in a restaurant called "Round Table Pizza" located in the Enchanted lake Shopping center. Soon after that we jumped across the street to install the same lighting in "The Shack" restaurant which is kind of a sport bar with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

I was on a search to find some food for my lunch break here in Enchanted lake, Kailua. After working in the Round table pizza Hawaii restaurant I took my lunch break and headed down the shopping center to a restaurant called "The Food Company".

It was interesting because I had heard of "The Food Company" restaurant by a few locals and also from the website. But one thing that I noticed while working earlier in the day was that at 9:30 in the morning even before the store opened there was four people outside waiting to get in. As the day went on the customers never stopped coming to 'The Food Company' for a bite to eat and at lunch the place was packed. I decided that 100+ people couldn't be wrong so Ill go ahead and try out their menu.

The Food Company did not disappoint, they had all the local favorites from fish and seafood/sushi items to authentic Asian dishes. They also had a light Polynesian menu as well. I tried the Bar-B-Que bento mix plate and it was delicious. The prices were ok but the food was well worth it.
