Problem of Obesity in Australia

Presently there is none of the region / country which is not yet hit by evil of obesity. Whether it is a developed or developing nation, all faces common health hazard which is termed as 'Obesity'. Obesity which in usual terms means over weight is not only the overweight problem, buts its consequences are severe. Obesity in medical terms relates to unwanted or excess fat in our body (in the form of adipose tissue). The main problem which lies behind its immense widespread in developed nations (mainly Australia) is lack of ignorance among the common mass.

Obese people are highly prone to - Heart diseases, stroke or brain attack, diabetes, cancer of the gall bladder, Osteoarthritis (wearing away of joints), Gout, breathing problem, high cholesterol, high blood pressure etc.

Recent studies from Medical Journal of Australia 174:561-4 shows that 47% of women and 63% of men are overweight or obese in Australia, where seven million adult Australians aged 25 years and over (60%) were overweight. Of these, over two million (21%) were found obese according to the 1999-2000 Australian Diabetes, Obesity and Lifestyle Study.

It is found that Males were more likely to be overweight as compared to females, with 67% and 52% respectively.

There have been significant increases in the proportions of overweight and obese Australians over the last 20 years. From 1980 to 1999-2000, for people aged 25-64 years, the proportion of overweight women increased from 27% to 47%, and the proportion of overweight men increased from 47% to 66%.

On average, women in 1999 weighed 4.8 kg more than their counterparts in 1980, and men 3.6 kg more.

So now the question arises why the obesity is such a drastic threat in Australia. The reason behind that are simple and explainable. The obesity is usually caused by excessive intake of fat which is a common say but that's not always true, because once you go back in late 70's or 80's we find that we as a common layman are intaking fat via our food but the problem of obesity was rare, but now-a-days entire life style of people has changed. Today when the day begins a child leave his/her breakfast (which consist of vitamins, proteins) and went to the school, in the interval he/she consumes the fast foods including pizza's, burgers or soft drinks which are highly calorific and mild toxic. Similar problem is with the senior ones, the same problem has been seen in various corporate's where employee work under 24X7 work environment in such a case there is no regular lunches or breakfast, also their busy schedule increases their intake of fast and junk food as these are easy to order and consume. We find this even in the households whenever we found that there is nothing to eat and its not the time to cook we either call for a pizza or prefer a burger and enjoy our meals, this is true if we explain it with reference to time and also it is delicious. I am not discouraging the pizza parlours, ice creams or burgers, but what we can do is to limit their intake and encourage more vegetables, fruits in our daily diet.

But still most of the people consume the same assuming they will reduce extra calories the next day but the day never comes. The general masses are totally unaware about this junk food and stimulates to obesity, overweight problem. As aforesaid the problem is increasing day by day and if not taken seriously from both preventive and curing measures it could disrupt the major population in Australia.

Ultimately the solution to the problem is simple and explanatory. Wherever we live or wherever we work we must adapt ourselves to natural health food habits and avoid the junk food intake. And the people who are proned to obesity they must do physical exercises to get rid of it. But for highly obese patients with the BMI of over 35.00, obesity surgeries are recommended.

Obesity Weight Loss and Superfood Supplements

Did you ever feel like you just had to have something to eat even though you really were not hungry? You're feeling tired and sluggish and you think that if you have a cup of coffee or a candy bar, you can get enough energy to get back to work. That helps for a time but then you begin to fade away again and reach for more sugary or caffeinated foods – a cookie and a Coke, a pastry and a cup of coffee, another candy bar. It doesn't help over the long haul, in fact it seems that you are more tired than ever. All it does is add extra weight on your hips or belly that you certainly don't want or need and you get into a dangerous cycle of eating foods that quickly raise your blood sugar, require more insulin that lets you crash and sink even lower into a feeling of exhaustion.
Obese? What are you craving and what are you eating?
Your body may be telling you that what you need are some nutrients ( http://www.phreshgreens.me/phresh-articles/139-balancing ) that aren't found in the kind of food you are eating. It's not much different than putting sugar in the gas tank of your car. You car will sputter and stall – so does your body.
Americans are overweight ... and undernourished.
We, as a nation, have incurred poor eating habits and some don't even know that high fat, high sodium, high sugar diets are not "normal" because eating this way is all they've ever known. People are just too busy and cooking is no longer a priority. Grabbing a donut or other junk food for breakfast is now the norm. Kids are sent off to school with a pop tart in one hand and a pre-packed lunch, notoriously high in fat and low or no nutrients, in the other hand. And, it's very common for working couples to pick up dinner at a fast-food restaurant or order "carry out" or delivery to eat at home. You know the thinking – if they order a pizza when they reach a certain landmark it will be delivered soon after they walk in their front door at home. On other nights greasy chicken and cole slaw, mashed potatoes and beans represent a "balanced diet."
How Serious Is The Problem?
It's more serious than we care to admit. The nightly news carries frequent stories on "Obesity in America" with cameras focused on bulging belies, over-the-top waistlines and double or triple chins. Virtually every health agency is saying that without a diet high in green vegetables we are not providing adequate support for heart health, healthy blood flow to the brain, healthy cell division, healthy blood sugar, cholesterol levels, bone density, a healthy weight and other health priorities. And as you age these issues become even more important. There is also the question of how nutrient rich the products of depleted soil these vegetables actually may be.
Substitute pHresh greens for Those Junk-Foods
