What Type of Food Should You Have at Your Kids Birthday Party? Stuff of Course!

For me, it is all the time S.T.U.F.F-Simple Tasty Un-Fussy Food for kids parties. I have spent hours, in days gone by, arrival up with fancy recipes that I think my kids and their friends would love, only to find my fancy food left and the simple stuff all gone. So I learned my lesson- S.T.U.F.F is what I stick to now.

S.T.U.F.F doesn't mean boring. You can still dress it up to look pretty, or to be in retention with a extra party theme. It just means giving kids what they like, for example:

Breakfast Pizza

Pizza- they all love it. And it's pretty wholesome to, especially if you serve it with a salad. So for parties, serve pizza slices, or fingers. Cut it into themed shapes, or color the pizza base or toppings to tie in with your themes.

Sandwiches- ham, cheese, tuna mayo- they all the time go down a treat. Use cookie cutters to make them more interesting, or use different breads to give them a twist. Dress them up with cheese "sails" onto sandwich boats and olive "eyes" onto sandwich snakes. Whatever silly all the time goes down well.

Cupcakes. These are a party must. They are so versatile- Whatever type of party you are having, you can have a simple cup cake transformed into a party masterpiece. Just add your icing, candies and sprinkles- and create away.

Naming your party food gives Stuff a fun twist. For example, if you are having a Monster Party, turn mac and cheese into "Gruesome Gloup", just by placing a name card in front of the serving dish. Or hotdogs with ketchup into "Dead Mens Fingers" at your Pirate Party.

For party drinks, I keep away from the fizz and stick to juices and punch. I don't offer a lot of choice- and the Stuff on offer has all the time been fine. Once they know there is no soda they tend not to ask again. I have found at modern parties that some kids prefer the most simple Stuff of all- water!
